-Including regular classes, extracurricular activities, internships, international exchange programs, etc.

-From June 12th (Mon) to August 25th (Fri), providing opportunities for student success

Our university will be running the 11-week Challenge Semester for the academic year 2023 from June 12th (Mon) to August 25th (Fri).

With the aim of providing students with various opportunities, including regular classes as well as extracurricular activities, internships, and international exchange programs, we introduced the Challenge Semester in 2020, the first of its kind in Korea. Last year, over 5,500 students participated, fostering a spirit of challenge, and gaining broad experiences.

In the fourth year of the Challenge Semester, we offer enriching and diverse programs so that students can freely experience the learning they desire. Firstly, the regular academic program consists of innovative interdisciplinary courses such as "Phono Sapiens Experiential Design," taught by Professor Jaeboong Choi, famous for the book "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind." These courses cover areas of AI, data analysis, machine learning, and other fields that have attracted significant interest from students. These courses are also eligible for academic credit.

The extracurricular program includes lectures in various fields such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, AI, entrepreneurship, branding, language study, and career development. Internship programs that utilize long break periods are also active. Students can gain firsthand experience by collaborating with leading domestic companies and local communities. Additionally, they can participate in projects that identify and solve real-world problems.

Students can also engage in research experiences by exploring research topics in collaboration with outstanding researchers. Particularly, a practical training project for undergraduate students called the "Samsung Electronics Corporate Problem-Solving Project," is offered for the first time in collaboration with Professor Soo-ok Sim from the School of Business and the Visual Display Division of Samsung Electronics.

Students, who want to enhance their global competencies, can participate in the International Summer Semester, a representative international exchange program at Sungkyunkwan University. They can also take advantage of opportunities to participate in summer programs organized by partner universities overseas, with which Sungkyunkwan University has established agreements.
