MOU Signed between the Center for CMCD, Sungkyunkwan University and Autoform Korea

Sungkyunkwan University Center for Composite Materials & Concurrent Design (CMCD) (Center Director, College of Engineering - Mechanical Engineering, Professor JongHwan Suhr) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AutoForm Korea (CEO Young-bin Cho) on September 8th at the Natural Sciences Campus to enhance mutual understanding between both organizations and contribute to the development of academic and educational activities.

AutoForm is a global company in software solutions for press mold manufacturing and sheet molding industries with offices in 14 countries other than its Swiss headquarters, leading in areas of design via simulation, and verification of reliability in engineering and manufacturing processes.

Important officials such as Olivier Leteurtre, the CEO of the Head office, CEO Young-bin Cho, and Director Chanho Lee from AutoForm and Professor Jong Hwan Suhr, Professor Sang Won Lee, Professor Hyung Mo Jeong and Professor Eun Ho Lee from our school attended at the MOU Signing Ceremony that day.

Both institutions mutually agreed to promote academic and educational advancements through ▲joined academic research ▲mutual personnel exchange ▲technology meetings. Through the agreement, the center for CMCD is planning to: mutually cooperate for cultivating human resources and improvement of R&D performance; establishing a program that can contribute to the development of composite material; and expanding the capability and basis of internationalization of our university.

Young Bin Cho, the CEO of AutoForm Korea said that it is very encouraging to see that the system of cooperation between advanced technology and talented human resources of the university and industry, is contributing to local development. He also revealed his hope to cooperate and build on the relationship through continuous exchange in the future.

Director Jong Hwan Suhr emphasized the role of universities in responding to rapidly changing markets and societal values in the automotive, aerospace, and other manufacturing industries, stating, "The role of universities in responding to rapidly changing markets and societal values in the automotive, aerospace, and other manufacturing industries, and leading them forward is crucial."
