On November 14 to 16, Dr. Dong-Ok Chah, Vice President of Office of International Affairs, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), participated in the 8th QS-APPLE Conference (Quacquarelli Symonds- Asia Pacific Professional Leaders in Education) held in Indonesia, to discuss new conclusion of agreement, ways of expanding exchange, and to enthusiastically promote the 9th QS-APPLE Conference which will be held in SKKU on October 2013.
At the conference, where more than 400 university educational officials from Asia Pacific area including Mideast, Russia, Latin America participated, SKKU held meetings with more than 30 universities including Bogor Agricultural University in Indonesia, King Saud University in Saudi Arabia, China Medical University in Taiwan, Far Eastern Federal University in Russia, Universiti Teknologi Petronas in Malaysia, and discussed ways of enhancing future cooperation as well as seeking possibilities of expanding exchange.
Meanwhile on the last day of the conference, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS: world universities evaluation organization) of QS Stars Rating (evaluation system) awards ceremony was held, where SKKU was the first Korean university to receive the certificate of 5-Star (a prime grade).
In the closing ceremony, Dr. Cha held a presentation to introduce internationalization of Seoul City and SKKU, as the host of the 9th QS-APPLE Conference, as well as its deep history, present, future.
