November 12 (Mon), Office of International Affair, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) invited Swedish Ambassador H.E Lars Danielsson to hold an address about the topic; “Is there a crisis in the European Union?” More than 100 students, including Political Science and Diplomacy major students and exchange students who are studying at SKKU, attended this lecture and had a chance to consider EU’s past, present, and its future.
Ambassador Danielsson emphasized the necessity to establish East Asia local alliance such as EU, stating various ways to solve EU’s current problems. During the discussion, students raised various questions on this topic such as Europe’s overwhelming welfare policy being the main cause of the economical crisis, and possibility of Turkey’s entrance into the EU.
