Chna's Shandong University visits SKKU

 

Since its agreement in 1993, the administrator’s exchange program shown  continuous progress.

On July 24, the administrator’s delegation from Shandong University visited Sungkyunkwan Universtiy (SKKU) for an 8 day visit.

 

The 12 people delegation consisting of professors and personnel from Shandong University’s External Cooperation Development Department, Personnel Department, Retiree Support Center, College affiliated administration offices, Labor union, Engineering Education Center, College of Literature/Media & Broadcasting, College of Chemical Engineering, College of Medicine and International Department.

 

The delegation met with President Chung, Kyu Sang on July 27, and discussed the past 20 years of bilateral exchange between our universities while expressing future paths for development. In the ‘Administrators Exchange Forum’ administrators from the Faculty Human Resources Team, General Affairs Support Team, Admissions Management Team and Management Team were introduced, and the opportunity was given to benchmark ‘Best Practices’ of their duties.

 
On July 28, the delegation visited Executive Vice President Yoo, Ji Beom of the Natural Sciences Campus and discussed on the excellent industry-university collaboration achievements that were being made. Also they exchanged administrative ideas, and had a insightful discussions on ways to broaden students exchange and academic cooperation with personnels from the Research & Business Foundation, School of Medicine and College of Sciences.

 

Shandong University is one of China’s distinguished universities. They have a total of 8 campuses which are located in Jinan, Weihai, Qingdao and other areas (Qingdao is expected to open in 2016), and consists of 31 colleges with prominent areas in the filed of philosophy, economics, law, medicine, military science and others.

 

The academic exchange agreement between SKKU and Shandong University was signed in 1990, which was before Korea established diplomatic ties with China. After ties were made 1992, the official agreement in academic exchange and student exchange were newly made in 1993. Under this agreement administrator exchange have been conducted every other year. After our official agreement in 1993 exchange students and relations have continuously grown and prospered, rounding up the accumulated number for students coming from Shandong University at around 60, with SKKU students at 40 until 2015. And every year 3 to 5 students are being sent to both universities for exchange.
