Graduate School of Governance selected for IDB run KLSP 2015.11.19

On Nov. 13, Graduate School of Governance(Dean Bahk, Jaewan) of Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) was selected as final operating agency for the KLSP project (Korean Universities for the Korea-LAC Scholarship Program), run by the  Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

 

Run by IDB, KLSP project is a support program to establish and outsource a new ‘Masters of Public Management(MPM)’ degree program to promote and cultivate personnel to design, implement and evaluate public policy at countries in Central and South America, by collaborating, for the purpose of bringing about stability to countries in Central and South America, with universities who are internationally recognized to have excellent programs in governance and public policy.   

 

In Oct. SKKU was assessed and inspected by IDB, and as a result, received high marks in major indicators like the integrity of curriculum, excellent faculty, high expectancy in learning effectiveness for exchange students, capacity for student exchange and more.

 

The program is expected to begin from the 2016 fall semester and will last for 18 months including intensive semesters.

 

Dean Bahk, Jaewan, Graduate School of Governance, who oversaw the procurement of the program explained, “This is an achievement which represents the excellence in governance and public policy education in Korea and our university. We will do our utmost to see that the program is settled in and run smoothly.”
