Mr. Lee, who is of the family of Suk Joo(石洲) Yi, Sang Ryong(1858~1932) who had fought for independence of Korea and served as the first Prime minister of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, named his exhibition ‘Looking back on the Nation'. He said, “The exhibition cherishes the great deeds of our ancestors who sacrificed and shed blood for our nation when the fate of the nation was hung by a thread.” From the transcripts of the ‘Death Poem’ by Mae Chun(梅泉) Hwang Hyun(1855-1910) which he wrote before committing suicide due to the indignation of Kyung Sool Gook Chi (Japan-Korea Annexation Treaty) and Chung Mu Gong(忠武公) Lee Sun Shin’s Jin Joong Eum(陣中吟), the sentiments of a firm resolution can be felt.

‘Maehwa Moo Jing Jang(梅花無盡藏)’, which is added by Mr. Lee after Toegye Yi Hwang’s 91 pieces of poems about apricot flowers, reaches 1.5 meters in height and 50 meters in width. In addition, transcription of Yulgok Yi I’s Ho Dang Ya Jua(湖堂夜坐) and Hoe Jae Yi Eon Jeok’s Im Geo Sip Oh Young(林居十五詠) are displayed as well.
