Joint Seminar on Sustainable Built Environment 2016 held on 21st~22nd 2016.10.24

In order to discuss healthy places, building energy reduction, and recent equipment technology regarding eco-friendly construction and energy savings of buildings in Korea, China, and Japan, the joint seminar on 'Sustainable Built Environment 2016' was held on Oct 21st ~22nd.

 

This event was organized by SKKU and 65 professors and students from Asia’s top institutes such as Tokyo University, Tsinghua University, and Yonsei University, who shared their research outcomes and knowledge while fortifying human networks.

 

The seminar was divided into 7 sessions over 2 days. On the first day, Prof. Thorsten Schuetze of SKKU made an opening speech about 'Integrated Planning and Design for a Sustainable Built Environment' and sessions 1~4 were held afterwards.

 

On the second day, Prof. Do Nyun KIM of SKKU made an opening speech about 'Smart Green City: Good City Making with Utilizing Cutting Edge Technology-Seoul Digital Media City's Experience' and the remaining 5~9 sessions were held.

 

Prof. Doo Sam SONG of SKKU said “this event serves as a momentum feeling of necessity for exchanges and joint development of top researchers. Also through this event, we verified that the research abilities of universities in Asia have reached the top  standards of the world.”

 

Prof. Li XIAOFENG of Tsinghua University mentioned he was “surprised by Korea’s high level of research and technologies regarding eco-friendly construction. I am looking forward to having more exchanges in the future.”

 

This seminar will be held at Tsinghua University next year and more active discussions are expected.
