The Ministry of Education announced a list of 17 business units including 9 new entries, which will participate in the ‘Campus Asia’ project for operating dual or joint degree courses with universities in Korea, China, and Japan.

The Professional Graduate School of Water Resources (Dean: Kyung Soo JUN) was selected for the new business unit for Campus Asia Project, by establishing a consortium with Nagasaki University (Japan) and Shandong University (China). The school will dispatch 10 students annually to Japan and China and hold joint research and bilateral education with Japan, by receiving Japanese students. Students who join the project will receive financial support such as exemption of tuition fees, air fare, and accommodation.

The Campus Asia Project was selected as a new business model at the 3rd Korea-China-Japan Summit Conference in May 2010, and had been under test operation from 2011 to 2015. At the 6th Korea-China-Japan Summit Conference in Nov 2015 and the 1st Conference of Education Minister in Korea-China-Japan in Jan 2016, it was agreed that the project should continue its operation in the future, due to the performance shown in the past five years.

With the addition of a new business unit, SKKU will be operating a total of 3 units for the Campus Asia Project along with the 2 existing business units, this includes; The College of Liberal Arts – Academy of East Asian Studies (Head: Jung Joon LEE) and The School of Law – The College of Social Science (Head: Bong Chul CHOI, Hae Ryong SONG).
