Do Young CHANG, a graduate student of the Dept. of Human ICT Convergence received the Minister Prize from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy at Industry Convergence Day, held at Coex/Grand Intercontinental Hotel on Nov 18th.

CHANG received this prize because his human ICT convergence research was recognized as an outstanding case. As a leader of the Dept. ICT Convergence’s multidisciplinary student team, he researched about “methods for investigating bradykinesia symptoms for patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease” with Korea University’s Guro Hospital Parkinson Center. He also invented the “Smart toothbrush”, using motion sensors and image processing.

Furthermore, he suggested “Smart Scarf” at the international workshop organized by SADI (Samsung Art and Design Institute). CHANG also participated in MIT GRAND HACK and received the 2nd prize at “Harvard Hiller Hackathon”, by suggesting “Mobile Parkinson’s Disease Study”.

The student participated as a staff member at “Trend X Medical Hack 2016” spending much time and passion in order to make the event successful.

He said; “I hope more students are able to work on many projects with various people and not be afraid to go abroad to collaborate with foreign students”, said CHANG.
