Semiconductor Building 2nd Floor Renovation Opening Ceremony

(Department of Semiconductor Systems Engineering)

- Improvement of learning spaces, laboratory labs, etc., and equipment upgrade


The Department of Semiconductor Systems Engineering carried out remodeling of public spaces such as semiconductor research information center, hardware lab, software lab, multi-purpose lab, and hallway on the 2nd floor of the Semiconductor Building during summer vacation, and held the renovation opening ceremony on October 13, Thursday.


The semiconductor research information center is a space where students can creatively learn and communicate freely among members, consisting of a space where individuals can study comfortably and seminar spaces where they can discuss in groups. The laboratory labs have improved the space so that students can practice in a comfortable environment with high illumination, and have been upgraded with the latest computers and laboratory equipment.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Min Young Chung (Dean of the College of Information and Communication Engineering), Prof. Jung-Hoon Chun (Vice Dean of the College of Information and Communication Engineering), Prof. Soyoung Kim (Department Chair), Prof. Chilki Lee (Munhaeng Distinguished Chair Professor), Prof. Yong Serk Kim, Prof. Byung-Sung Kim, Prof. Tae Hee Han, Prof. Dong Kun Shin, Prof. Jinkyu Jeong, Prof. Jungrae Kim, Prof. Seokin Hong, Prof. Jae Hyun Hwang, and Yeonsun Son from Samsung Electronics.

Department Chair, Prof. Kim said, “With the renovation of the 2nd floor of the Semiconductor Building, it is expected that we will be able to provide an educational environment where various experiments can be conducted at the highest level. It will be possible to increase student satisfaction by providing spaces where students can freely discuss and relax in addition to learning.”
