SKK GSB Opens “Investing in Climate, Investing in Growth” Forum

-"Climate Change is an opportunity for corporate growth and maximization of investment returns"

On February 16th (Thurs), Prof. Eric Chuan Fong Shih, Dean of SKK GSB, opens a forum called “Investing in Climate, Investing in Growth” in the International Hall of the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus. This forum starts with the question of “Are we at the Inflection point of climate investing?” by Yu (Ben) Meng, Executive Vice President and Chair of Asia Pacific, Franklin Templeton.

Last year, many parts of the world had suffered unprecedented difficulties due to climate change which is still much in progress. However, SKK GSB focuses on climate change as an "opportunity" rather than a "crisis." Climate change is a huge paradigm that will create new technology development in an organically woven corporate ecosystem and provide opportunities for a chain of changes and growth. This shows to be a clear example where the primary, secondary, and tertiary industry partners are all speeding up their efforts to prepare survival and growth strategies for the new era through new technology development and investment of the automakers for increased production of electric vehicles.

Prof. Eric Chuan Fong Shih of SKK GSB, an organizer of the forum, emphasizes, “If we have previously focused on avoiding the risks related to paradigm shifts through ESG concepts, we should now focus more on the changes in companies and industries that will bring tremendous growth in the era of change in its production of new skills.” The SKK GSB Forum will focus on participating in the stabilization of climate change to maximize investment returns and in finding investment opportunities for changes in traditional technologies and the production of emerging technologies.

SKK GSB's 'Climate Investment, Growth Investment Forum' will be held quarterly, followed by the climate investment in the first quarter, the second quarter will discuss of the battery industry, a key element of the low-carbon economy. SKK GSB will invite industry experts, high-tech companies, and investment experts related to climate change in the global market to host an expert networking session. This forum is available both offline and online.
