[Figure 1] Korean dress class at Xi’an, China


Professor Woohyun CHO (School of Fashion Design) opened classes on traditional Korean dress “hanbok” at the Sejong Culture Academy during April ~ July. 

 

Sejong Culture Academy is installed at “Sejong Hakdang”, which is an academy of Korean studies that has branches all over the world. The academy operates cultural activities such as Korean food, taekwondo, samulnori, etc and introduce Korean culture to foreigners.

Prof. CHO began the classes in April at Istanbul, Turkey and continued to open classes in other cities such as Ho Chi Minh city, Patna, Riga, Tashkent, Bishkek, Xi’an, and Jakarta. The classes will continue in October at different locations.

Experts were dispatched to different academies for the classes. Participants were taught on the theory of Korean dress and also had a hands-on experience in making their own craftwork. Participants were very enthusiastic and asked many questions during the sessions.
