Dr. Seong Beom Lee,appointed associate professor of Law at Seoul National University
Dr. Seong Beom Lee, who graduated from the Department of Law at SKKU, was appointed associate professor of Law at Seoul National University in March 2022.
Dr. Lee received bachelor’s and M.A. degrees from the Department of Law at Sungkyunkwan University.
After completing his doctorate course in law at SKKU’s Law School, he entered the Department of Law at Bremen University in Germany and obtained a doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) in 2020 with a dissertation titled, 「Rechtsethische Auslegung im Schadensrecht」. His dissertation was published in volume 519 of the Schriften zum Bürgerlichen Recht by Duncker & Humblot, a German academic publishing company. Since then, he has returned to Korea and served as a researcher at the Korean Academy of Law.
His main research field is civil law and he specifically focused on the establishment of exceptions to the basic dogmatic of the Damage Compensation Act and its methodological jurisdiction. In this regard, he published a paper in various journals, and he won the Songam Rising Scholar Award in December 2021.
